MOTHER NELLIE MAE WEAVER COOPER Age 86, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 with her family at her bedside. She was born on March 15, 1931 in Gilmer County, Georgia to the late James Hardy and Mamie Lou Vanzant Weaver. Mother Cooper was a faithful member of True Gospel Pentecostal Church where she was a member of the Mothers Board. Her husband, F.L. Pete Cooper, daughter, May Pearl Cooper, Lillian Mayberry, and Dorothy Ann Moore, and sons, C.L. Otis Cooper and Roger Cooper, has preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving family, son, Elder Kennth A. (Natalie) Cooper of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughters, Dr. Mattie Bell (Bishop James) ONeal of LaFayette, Indiana and Evangelist Diane (Charles) Bonds of Dalton, Georgia; sister, Mattie McDade; brother-in-law, Eugene Cooper of Sarasota, Florida; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at True Gospel Pentecostal Church, 109 Henderson Street, Dalton, with Bishop Reuben Graham, Sr. and other minister officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment, Center Valley Cemetery.
