Mrs. Katherine “Kate” J. Kelley, 85, of Knoxville, Illinois formerly of Galesburg died at 4:02 pm Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
She was born June 9, 1932 in Galesburg the daughter of Theodore L. and Pearl Terpening Hoffman. She married William J. Berry in 1950. She later married Bernard R. Kelley on June 3, 1978 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2015.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cathy Berry of Galesburg, Carol (Brad) Dietrich of Quincy, Illinois, Carla Schmalz of Galesburg; three step daughters, Deborah (Michael) Wilson of Jefferson City, Missouri , Karen (Charles) Bowman of New London, Iowa and Teresa (William) Carver of Malcom, Iowa; one step son, Duane Kelley of Burlington, Iowa; one brother, Robert Hoffman of Jacksonville, Illinois; her sister, Martha Anderson of Galesburg; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Connie McDorman, three brothers and one sister.
Kate had worked for Osco Drug as a clerk for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
