Dawn Doreen Lindsey passed away on January 13, 2017 at the KC Hospice House after a two-year battle with cancer.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday February 4, 2017 at the Firestone Building, 2001 Grand Blvd, KCMO, at 1:00. In lieu of flowers please donate your time or money in an act of kindness for a friend or stranger in honor of Dawn. She lived a life of love and service to her family and community. She attended and served in many churches in the KC area, was an advocate for human rights, leading her into political campaigning in 2007. Whatever the need was, she was there to serve.

Dawn was born in Utica, Ohio on December 30, 1954. She graduated from Utica High School before joining the Army and spending time in Germany. She moved to Missouri to attend the University of Central Missouri. Upon graduation she moved to the Kansas City Metro area where she met Rob Lindsey. They were married December 24, 1980.

Gone before her are her father Tom Hurst of Florida and her beloved grandson Cole DeWalt. Dawn is survived by her husband Rob, daughters Anne Lindsey, Kristin McKelvy, son-in-law Bray McKelvy, grandchildren Quin and Elbie, cousins David, Geoff and Gregg Billows, sister Jana Holler and her children Angela, Chaz, and Tommy, mother Dina McDonald, mother-in-law Ollie and father-in-law Bob Lindsey, sister-in-law Pam Arrnet and her children Jackie, Anson, Dustin, Jamie and Joe.

She was loved by many and will always be remembered.
