John Raney Pearce, passed away Aug 3, 2017, at his home in Whigham, Ga. He was born on April 5, 1947, in Cairo, GA, to the late Harvey L. Pearce and Dessie L. Albrittan Pearce. Jan 3, 1974, he married Margie Sue Byrd Pearce, who survives. He was employed for 32 years with the Grady EMC as a right of way supervisor. He was a member of Piedmont Primitive Baptist Church in Calvary. John loved carpentry work. He could build anything and has built several homes. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed family cookouts and get togethers.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margie Sue; stepsons, Edsel “Al” (Dolores), Joseph (Carolyn), Robert (Ethel); grandson, Gabriel; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Bobby (Lois), Jerry (Linda); sister, Martha; sister-in-law, Phyllis; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Richard Robinson; brothers, Wayne Pearce, Marcus Pearce, Maurice Pearce, Melvin Pearce, James Pearce, Marlin Pearce; and sisters, Lila Mae Perkins, Lillian Rich.
