Violet Glee Palmer, 90, of Cass Lake, MN passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Neilson Place in Bemidji.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Cass Lake, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pine Grove cemetery in Cass Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Violet was born November 3, 1926 in Cass Lake, MN the daughter of Chauncey and Cora (Hazen) Hasbrouck. On May 12, 1949 she married Norman "Bob" Palmer in Cass Lake, MN. Her greatest joy came from her family and friends. She loved to visit and always made you feel you were her favorite. Violet was also the biggest tease.

She is survived by her four children, Elizabeth Erickson of Cass Lake, MN, Barbara Soukup of Minneapolis, MN, Robert of Cass Lake, MN and Robin (Amos) of Minneapolis, MN, daughter-in-law, Patty of Carver, MA, seven grandchildren, Tammy (John) Erickson of Bemidji, Leslie Erickson of Cass Lake, Kim (Eric) Dessart of Jacksonville, NC, David (Denise) Erickson of Cass Lake, MN, Jaclyn (Michael) Johnson of Carver, MA, Joshua Palmer of Marshfield, MA, Michelle Palmer (Reuben) of St. Paul, MN and 8 great grandchildren. Violet will also be missed by many relatives and friends too numerous to name. Just know she loved all of you.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, son Timothy, granddaughter, Laura, daughter-in-law, Sherry, son-in-law, Larry and 9 sisters and 7 brothers.

1930 Census: Chancey Hasbrouck (69) born about 1861 in Minnesota, was living at Cass Lake, Cass, Minnesota. Occupation - blacksmith in his own shop. He was married to Cora Hasbrouck (49) born about 1881 in Minnesota. Children: Frances (15), Eva (13), Channetta (9), Donald (6), Violet Glee (3), and Charles (1). Living with them was their widowed son-in-law - Clarence Nichols (38) born about 1892 in Minnesota. Occupation - laborer in railroad round house. He had three children: Dorothy (4), Mary (2), and Chancey (1). Also living there was Chauncey's widowed sister - Lucy Sherman (74) born about 1856 in Wisconsin.

1940 Census: Cora L Hasbrouck (58) born about 1882 in Minnesota, was widowed and living at Cass Lake, Cass, Minnesota. Children: Donald L (16), Violet Glee E (13), and Charles J (11). Cora's widowed mother lived with them - Mary E Hazen (82) born about 1858 in Illinois. Two grandchildren lived with her also: Mary E Nichols (12) and Chauncey J Nichols (11).
