Family provided memories say:

"Otto was a mason and bricklayer having built and contracted schools, hospitals, etc. in Denver, Colorado, up to 1929 when the crash came and he lost everything.

In 1935, Otto had a brick wall fall on him while he was at work putting in a basement. As a result, he lost a lung. He had been at St. Therese Hospital for 3 years until penicillin was discovered. One lung had been collapsed and a drain put in for 3 years."

A news article reads: "Survivors are his wife, Marie; four sons, Kenneth, Winthrop Harbor; John, Riverside, Calif.; Richard, with the U.S. Marines in Japan; Donald, California; a daughter, Mrs. Dora Morgan, Japan; three step-daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Rades, Ingleside, Mrs. Joan Bellheimer, Round Lake; Mrs. Jean Arthur, California; 18 grandchildren, two brothers, Walter and Gerhardt, both of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Anna Benson (sic), California."
