Lucille (Lucy) V. Peterson, a long-time resident of Waukegan, died Sunday the 29th of January surrounded by loved ones in the comfort her home. Born in 1932 in Oshkosh, WI, Lucy worked in the Food Service industry for 30 years, along with a retail career at Kohl's for an additional 30 years. At 84 years old, she continued to work full-time at Kohls until just shortly before her death. Lucy loved good food and socializing, enjoyed summertime trips up to the lakehouse in Neshkoro, WI, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She also had a mad passion for jewelry. She is survived by her sister LaRaine Williams of Wisconsin; brother Ronald Peterson (Dorothy) of Wisconsin; daughter Candace J. Genovese of Vernon Hills; sons Ralph R. Genovese (Lorna) of North Haven, CT; and Stephen M. Genovese (Thomas J. Samorian) of Chicago, IL, along with three grandchildren -Chad Brown, Vincent Genovese, and Scott Genovese. Also surviving Lucille are her great-granddaughters Briana and Courtney Brown. She is pre-deceased by her son Joseph D. Genovese and a brother, Kenneth Peterson. Lucy requested a small, immediate-family-only service.
