Omer M. "Sonny" Bess, age 78, died Thursday, April 4, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, in Florence, Kentucky. He was born in Germantown, Kentucky, on January 13, 1941, to the late William C. "Bud" and Aletha Mitchell Bess.
He is survived by: his wife, Violet Katie Highfield Bess, who he married December 21, 1992; three daughters, Pam (Chris) Hardin, Kathy (Ross) Mason and Heather (Will) Dodson, all of Maysville, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Justin (Tiffany) Kennedy, Zackary (Cassidy) Kennedy, Dray (Alicia) Mains, Joseph (Lena) Dodson and Koltan Mason; and a brother, Delvin (Patty) Bess. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his: first wife, Charlene Elifritz Bess; second wife, Linda Sullivan Bess; and siblings, William Clellan “Bill” Bess and Yarnell Paris Bess.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Germantown Christian Church, in Germantown. Memorials are suggested to Germantown Christian Church.
