"Beloved husband, father, and friend Phillip Robbins passed away unexpectedly on Wed., Aug. 15, 2007.

He leaves a legacy of honor, respect and love to all who knew him. Phillip was a highly decorated soldier, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Silver Star, Soldier's Medal, Bronze Star for Valor, Air Medals, the French Croix de Guerre, Distinguished Service Order, Legion of Merit, and multiple Purple Hearts.

A survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, he proudly served as President of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge and belonged to the Port Orchard Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A master parachutist and linguist in his career, he was a loving husband, father, and friend in his later life. Enjoying his home, historical pursuits and tending his vast garden of botanical treasures, he loved the simple life and packed more into each day than any ordinary man.

He found the love of his life, Doris, 32 years ago. Their loving partnership became the inspiration and core of his world.

He leaves behind his wife, children and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by them all.

At his request, no services will be held, but donations can be made in his name to the Kitsap Humane Society.

Please visit the online memorial at www.rill.com. A celebration of Phillip's life will be posted at a later date." [source: Kitsap Sun, 21 Aug 2007]
