Cynthia S. Butler, age 68 of Colfax, passed away on Sunday, July 30 2017, at Newton Healthcare.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends following the service at a coffee time at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Southeast Iowa Parrott Rescue.

The daughter of Merrild and Aleatha (Burke) Fortune, Cynthia was born on January 19, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. Cynthia worked as a Welder at Trane Manufacturing for 20 years. She also worked on a ranch in Colorado. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking and thrift shopping. She loved animals, especially her birds, dogs, cats and horses.

Those left to honor her memory include her son Dr. Brad Hagarty of Colfax; three granddaughters, Caitlyn, Hannah, and Madeline and a sister, Diane Martinson.

Preceding her in death were her parents.
