A Channing woman died early Sunday in a crash north of Vega, according to the Department of Public Safety.

At about 4:30 a.m., Jessica Marie Miller, 21, was driving a 2015 Ford Mustang north on US Highway 385 when the car entered the ditch on the east side of the road. The Mustang struck a boulder, which caused her car to roll one time before coming to rest on its wheels.

Miller, who according to DPS was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene by Oldham County Justice of the Peace Kristy Homfeld at 8:18 a.m.

DPS reports that roads were dry at the time of the accident. The accident remains under investigation by DPS.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church in Channing. Burial will follow in the Channing Cemetery. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart.

Ms. Miller was born Nov. 11, 1995, in Abilene. Jessica had an unending energy when it came to helping co-workers, friends and family.

Survivors include her mother, Pamela Davis of Kerrville; her father, Vic Knoerr of Channing; a brother, Brandon Davis of Ballinger; two half sisters, Dawn Nickles and Crystal Haddock; and her grandparents, Walter and Mary Davis of Ballinger.
