Deseret News obituary:

Our beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully the evening of June 14, 2002, after a long fight with breast cancer.

Cathie was born the first child of Robert R. Roberts and LaVona Christensen Roberts on October 12, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a beautiful child who matured into a stunning, outgoing woman who loved life.

Cathie graduated from Olympus High School in 1973. She spent most of her professional career at Mountain High Properties, where she worked as a commercial real estate agent and property manager. On April 22, 1989, Cathie married the love of her life, Dr. L. Douglas Israelsen.

Cathie loved animals, especially cats. She was famous for rescuing strays and finding homes for them. Her two kitties, Dexter and Jake, were her constant companions during her illness. They are going to miss their mom greatly. Cathie also loved her horses, and missed being able to ride as her illness progressed. She leaves behind her favorite horse, Dancer.

Friends were very important to Cathie. She had a warm, friendly, caring way about her. Everyone who knew her loved her. If she was your friend, you felt very special for having her in your life. She will be greatly missed by all.
