Wade Bates, 12 year old Decatur, Texas and former Wyoming youth, was killed in an auto accident in Wise, County, Texas last Friday.

Wade Casey Bates was born on March 4, 2005 in Gillette, Wyoming to Dustin and Brenda Bates. The family was living in Sundance at the time of his birth and Wade went to the first two grades of elementary school there. The family moved to Fairview, Utah where he attended Spanish Fork Elementary for his third grade and in 2013 the family moved to Decatur, Texas where he went to two years of school. He had been going to Chico Elementary and Middle School and would have been a 7th grader at Chico Middle School at the time of his death.

Wade played the Tuba in the middle school band, he played football, he was a member of U.I.L., an academic program and when they were in Utah he was a Boy Scout. Wade loved animals, farm equipment, pickup trucks, playing video games with his brother and swimming.

He is survived by his parents, Dusty and Brenda Bates of Decatur, Texas; one brother McKade Bates also of Decatur; his paternal grandparents, Fritz and Beverly Bates of Clearmont, Wyoming and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
