Billie L. Ramsey, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Saint Luke’s North Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Billie was born the son of Eura and Nina (Burns) Ramsey on July 26, 1924, in Hardy, Arkansas. He graduated from Elmhurst High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, graduating in 1953 with his Bachelors of Science Degree in Agriculture. Billie served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, where he was a Prisoner of War. He was united in marriage to Laura Pennell on February 16, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Billie taught high school Biology in Ligonier, Indiana. Following he worked in the rural electric cooperative field in Indiana and Missouri. Billie also worked internationally for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He retired as the General Manager of the Cuivre River Electric Cooperative in Troy Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a former member of the Troy Lions Club and Rotary Club, and the Rotary Club of Chillicothe.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Ramsey of the home; one son, Dr. Sabry Ghaly of Rancho Cucamonga, California; one daughter, Diana Brickhouse and husband Stan of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Ramsey and wife Johnie of Lake Shasta, California, and Roy Ramsey and wife Betty of Lake Shasta, California; and one sister, JoAnne Madden and husband Bob of Bend, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Eugene Ramsey; one sister, Fern Schrader; and one brother, Jimmie Ramsey.

A private family graveside service will be held at Pear Tree Cemetery, Calico Rock, Arkansas,
