Mr. John Claude Deaton age 88 of Jackson, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 in Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt.

He was born June 5, 1929 in Benton County to the late Bonnie Lee Deaton and Gladys Mary Medlin Deaton.

Mr. Deaton was a retired truck driver and proudly served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Mary Lou Harsh, Sue Veach, Kenneth Deaton and Mark Deaton.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dollie Sandy Deaton of Jackson; two sons, Jeff Deaton of Arkansas and Mike Deaton of Jackson; sisters, Reatha Bugg of Somerville, Jean Decker and Joann Ford both of Memphis; brother, Jimmy Deaton of Somerville. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Joshua Deaton, Jarrod Deaton and Kimberly Wampler as well as three grandchildren, Liam Wampler, Charlie Wampler and Layla Wampler.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakview Memorial Park with Bro. William Harrell officiating with burial following. The Deaton family will receive friends on Monday at Bells Funeral Home from noon until 1:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Haven of Hope, P.O. Box 163 Medina, TN 38355 in memory of Mr. Deaton.
