Gregory Allen Knight Jr., 35, of Fluvanna County, Virginia, died on Thursday, August 14, 2014 ,at his home.
Born on June 15, 1979, in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of Rosemary and Gregory Knight Sr., and step-son of Ann Marie Knight.
Greg achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and received the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1998. Greg served an honorable full-time mission in Idaho, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, from 1998 until 2000.
He was a hard working country boy who always had a fishing pole within reach. His endearing personality and infectious smile will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and co-workers at UPS.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Peyton Knight; and siblings Samuel Knight, Rebecca Knight Gasser, Danielle Knight, Anastasia Knight, and W. Thomas Knight; his cousin, Joseph Knight, and friend, Jason Dean, who were like brothers to him; former wife and mother of his child, Ashleigh Ward; and aunts, uncles, and many others who loved him.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2975 Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville, Virginia.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
