Byron Paris Ballard, 63, went to heaven after a brave battle with leukemia on July 28, 2017. He was born on June 12, 1954 in Columbia, SC to Dorothy and Hugh Ballard. Byron graduated high school at W.T. White in Dallas, Texas then went to Texas Tech University, Lubbock. He met and married his wife, Gayle, in 1977 and moved to Glendale, AZ where he received his masters at Thunderbird School of Business and International Management. He then started working for Firestone in Dallas. In 1980, he moved to Enid, OK to start a longtime career in the oilfield business. Transferred to Elk City, OK where he attended the First Presbyterian Church. Transferred to Oklahoma City where he ended his 26 years with Armco Steel NOV. In 2006, he opened his own oilfield supply company with his son, Ryan, and Maggie, his daughter, joined the company later. He loved Jesus Christ and his family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners, and chocolate eclairs.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gayle; son, Ryan Ballard and wife Jenna, grandson Cashion Wade and granddaughter Eden Vail; daughter, Maggie McMillan and husband Tony, granddaughter Lillian Paris; brothers, Brett Ballard and wife Evia, Bart Ballard and wife Linda from Marble Falls, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be Monday, August 7, 11:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please dedicate your donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. We want to thank all the medical staff at Mercy and OU Medical.
