He was the husband of the late Dorothy Edwards Cunningham and the son of the late Willie and Naomi Cunningham of Taylors.
Born May 25, 1922 and native of Greenville County, he was a longtime active member of Taylors First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army WWII Veteran.
He established and owned Dot and Dan’s Fashions in Taylors as well as a thriving real estate and property management company.
To those who knew him, he was a bit of a character. He loved sporty cars, liked to stay on the go, and thoroughly appreciated a “good deal.” To the family who loved him, he was just Pop or Papa Dan.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Lee Cunningham, Jr., (Lynda) and J. Keith Cunningham (Lin); five grandchildren, Shelly Voyles (Chip), Ryan Cunningham (Alisa), Lee Cunningham, Ben Cunningham (Erin) and Beth Platovsky (Justin); and ten great-grandchildren, Josh and Hannah Voyles, Katie, Griffin and Lexie Grace Cunningham, Levi and McGuire Cunningham, Chandler Carter, and Sam and Hudson Platovsky.
Mr. Cunningham was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Taylors First Baptist Church Chapel, conducted by the Dr. Jimmie Harley. Private burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
