Homemaker and former Henry Countian Hazel Wilson Buchanan, 89, of Marengo, Ill., died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at her residence.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Danny Lamb will officiate. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery near Paris Landing.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday.
Born Jan. 1, 1923, in Hazel, she was a daughter of the late Robert Tilmon Lamb and Ollie Simmons Lamb.
She was married to Claude Vancel Buchanan, who died Nov. 1, 1970.
She was a member of the church of Christ.
Survivors are two daughters: Kathey (Brian) Minder of Marengo and Tammy (Dan) Cordell of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son: Joe (Catherine) Buchanan of Springville; one brother: Odell Lamb of Hazel;
Fifteen grandchildren: Steve (Kristi) Stavroplos, Brian (Ginna) Stavroplos, Robert (Linda) Stavroplos, Adam Minder, Victoria Minder, Ashley Richter, Rick (Carol) Zitzka, Michael (Tammy) Zitzka, Dee Ann (John) Rizleris, Tom Zitzka, Debbie (George) Flauta, Teresa (Edward) Johnson, and Annette, Joe and Janetta Buchanan; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter: Brenda Zitzka; one son: Robert Lee Buchanan; two brothers: James and Pete Lamb; and two sisters-in-law: Polly and Edna Lamb.
