FORT WORTH--Frank Prince Ferguson Jr., 96, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes with committal and reception to follow on site. MEMORIALS: If preferred, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Southwayside Baptist Church, 301 East Thornhill Drive, Fort Worth, 76115, 817-924-2229. Frank was born in Houston on Dec. 26, 1920, to Frank Prince Ferguson and Jessie Lillian Dato Ferguson. In 1936 he graduated from Paschal High School, and five years later married the love of his life, Bonnie Marie Ellis, who preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 2013. In the early years of their marriage, he worked for Swift in north Fort Worth as part of the war effort. He was subsequently employed by Texas Steel, Inc., where he retired from the accounting department in 1986. Frank followed in the tradition of his father to become a Freemason, and like his father was loved and revered for his benevolence and kindness. He instilled in his four children both a desire to do each and every job to the best of their ability and talent, and a love of nature and of music. His own greatest passion was flying. He never tired of delighting and dazzling his family and friends while soaring with them high above the Texas countryside in his Luscomb or Piper Club. Free time on the ground he spent crafting beautiful wooden toys for his children. Grander projects included a wooden motor boat to accommodate his family of six and, ultimately, a vacation home in Creede, Colorado. Above all, however, he was a beloved and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He shall be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; also by his eldest daughter, Margaret Anne Chae; and his only son, David Charles Ferguson. SURVIVORS: Brother, Charles Ferguson and his wife ,Ernestine; brother-in-law, Jesse King, beloved husband of Frank's sister Barbara; daughter Rosemary Ferguson Clair and her husband Bill; daughter, Linda Faye Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Alice Ferguson, beloved wife of Frank's son David; numerous cherished offspring of his own children and their children; and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
