Lottie was born in Caribou, ME to Leon and Amanda (Mandy) Castonguay. She attended Washburn High School and later went on to earn her GED with her proud family watching from the audience. An Ashland resident for more than 40 years before her passing, Lottie lived in Aroostook County her entire life. She worked 33 years as Office Clerk for Dead River Company, retiring in 2003.
Lottie devoted her life to her loving husband, children and grandchildren. Most noted for her beautiful smile, she loved to go for long walks and enjoyed playing bingo most Friday nights with her bingo buddy and special friend, Callie.
Lottie was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Mandy; two brothers Sylvio and Walter (Kick) Castonguay; and grandson Benjamin D. Barker. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 58 years Dale R. Barker; son Stephen and his wife Debbie of Mapleton; daughter Rita Tilley and her husband Jeffrey of Ashland; daughter Beverly Erickson of Bangor; son David and his wife Mona of East Waterboro; son Roger and his wife Michelle of Concord, NC; a very special niece Rhonda Lucas and her husband David of Orono; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Nettie Jehn of Limerick and sister-in-law Bonnie Castonguay of Brunswick.
In honor of Lottie's wishes, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ashland Municipal Cemetery. Reception will follow at the VFW, 36 Portage Rd, Ashland, ME.
If desired, contributions may be made in Lottie's memory to the Ashland Public Library, 66 Front St, Ashland, ME 04732.
