FRANKLIN - Levi T. Wellons, 84, a retired farmer and the husband of Mrs. Sallie Rose Wellons, died Tuesday in San Diego. Calif., while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Simpson.
A lifelong resident of Sedley, he was a son of John and Mrs. Martha Hundley Wellons. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.
Besides his widow and Mrs. Simpson, surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Shirley Jackson of Arlington and Mrs. L.E. Jennings of Waverly; two sons, John F. Wellons of College Park, Md., and Levi T. Wellons Jr. of Catonsville, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Eddie Butler of Franklin; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. C.L. Gatling of Black Creek Church and the Rev. James A. Coney. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
