Margie J. Reetz, 81, of Curtice, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, surrounded by her family. She was born September 1, 1923, in Curtice, to Joseph and Lottie (Shovar) Grosjean, Jr. On January 8, 1944, in Bono, Ohio, she married Donald C. Reetz, and he preceded her in death May 19, 2004. Margie was co-owner of the former Star & Lil's Restaurant in Genoa for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She had also worked at Chippewa Golf Course for 18 years prior. Margie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa and the Genoa American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, and she loved to cook and bake and liked to travel around the United States- Florida and Las Vegas. She had also been a precinct worker in Williston for many years.
Survivors include her sons, William J. (Carol) Reetz of Largo, FL, Larry D. (Mary) Reetz of Genoa; daughter, Debra S. (Don) Beaudry of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Pamela L. (Dan) Tallman, Jennifer L. Reetz, Joseph D. Reetz, Donald J. Marsh, Yvonne M. Beaudry, Angela M. (Josh) Reetz, Megan A. Beaudry, and Katie L. Beaudry; great-grandchildren, Zoe A. Tallman and Zachary A. Tallman and sister, Frances Koenig. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Fredrick Grosjean, and sisters, Tillie Cutcher and Catherine Grosjean.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, in the Robinson-Henn-Brossia & Walker Funeral Home, Genoa, with the family present 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Scripture service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa, with interment to follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. The family suggests contributions in Margie's memory to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #3, Genoa, Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto Fund, or the Genoa American Legion Auxiliary.
