Milton J. Abraham, 81, went to his eternal home on Friday, July 28, 2017, at his residence in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 7 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Milton John Abraham, the son of George and Viola (Seibels) Abraham, was born in Wentworth, S.D. He attended school in Wentworth, and graduated from Chester High School. Milton then entered the U.S. Army in 1958 and served in Germany.

On July 13, 1962, Milton was united in marriage with Ardice Helpenstine. He worked for Petroleum Carriers until 1980, at which time Milton and Lowell Crabb built Central Petroleum. He semi-retired in 1990. Due to his love of trucking, he continued driving truck until September of 2016.

Milton is survived by his wife, Ardice of Sergeant Bluff; two daughters, Valerie (Tim) Abraham of Jacksonville, Fla., and Denice (Jerry) Seifert of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four granddaughters, Madison (Tom) Wendt, Bailey Abraham, Kassandra Seifert and Abigail Guthmiller; nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Missy Guthmiller; four sisters, Marlene (Keith) Rausch, Lenice Jensen, Lois (Myrl) Unzelman and Carol Dirks; one brother, Lynn Abraham; special friends, Rochelle Katseres and Loren VanDerVleit families; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John and Eugene; and three brothers-in-law.
