Jack Thomas CHANEY was born on 25 January 1924 in Snyder, Scurry, Texas to Fred Jackson CHANEY (1898-1969) and Nina ‘Edith’ MELTON (1907-1990). His sister, Patricia Ruth CHANEY was born in 1926. The family was living in University Park, Dallas County, Texas in 1930 and in Gregg County, Texas in 1940. He had two children with Katherine Loretta FARROW, Jack William CHANEY and Kathryn Cheryl ‘Casey’ CHANEY. Sandra Sue CHANEY with Imogene JOHNSON. And Gail McKenzie.
On 27 January 1949, he returned from Yokohomo, Japan in service to his country and again on 20 March 1956 from Bremerhaven, Germany.
He passed on 15 December 2005 in Sandia, Jim Wells, Texas.
His body was donated to Baylor College of Medicine to further Alzheimer’s research. His daughter, Casey with his grandson, Kury; His son Jack William with his granddaughter, Nicole and grandson Kyle, gathered and spread his ashes in Austin on Memorial Day weekend in 2010.
