Mrs. Debra Joyce Collins-Key was born March 10, 1962 to the late Mr. Lawrence Collins Sr. and the late Ruby Collins in Parkin.
Debra, returned to her heavenly home on Friday, June 30, 2017. Her devotion to her family and friends with a firm belief in God supported her in a struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Jake Terrell of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Smithdale. She was a member of St. Matthews until the church closed. Debra was a graduate from Parkin High School in 1980.
She was a homemaker and well known in the community of Parkin.
Debra was preceded in death by one brother Lawrence Collins Jr.
Debra leaves a loving husband, Dornell Key of Parkin. Debra met the love of her life Dornell Key in high school. They were married April 23, 1984. To their union two beautiful children were born; one son, Keyon DeEgo Collins (Brandy) and Ameshia Key. She also leaves one sister Lori Johnson of Dallas; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Temple Deliverance Cathedral Church in Earle, with the Rev. Deidric Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Parkin.
