Michael Dan Skinner, 76, of Leesburg, passed away on July 28, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Dan was born on May 29, 1941 in Fort Wayne to Willard and Jean (Gallmyer) Skinner. He spent his formative years on Blue Lake and in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Northside High School in 1960.

After High School, he served briefly in the United States Navy.

He was married on October 10, 2016 to Patricia Ballou.

Dan loved fishing. He belonged to the North Webster American Legion.

Michael is survived by his wife, Patricia Skinner of Leesburg; a daughter, Chari Heffley of Churubusco; two sons, David Skinner of Largo, Fl and Andrew Skinner of Hendersonville, NC; a step-son, Christopher Boyle of Eaton; his mother Jean Skinner of Yorktown; a sister, Wendy (Don) Skinner of Ithaca, NY; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Willard Skinner.

Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., or one hour prior to the service

Services will begin at 11:00 A.M., at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Thursday, August 3, 2017.

Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
