Danny R. Farmer, age 67, of Sadieville, Kentucky, died Thursday, July 27, 2017. He was born in Grundy, Virginia, on October 11, 1949, to the late Hassel Farmer and Ruth Carol Looney Farmer. He was a sergeant in the Army from 1969 to 1971 and retired as a purchasing agent for the Kentucky American Water Company, in Lexington, Kentucky, after being employed there 38 years. He was a member and deacon of the Sadieville Christian Church. An avid bluegrass music lover, he started a family bluegrass band, Luke Creek. He also was a banjo picker for CountryBlu and the Bluegrass Gospel Travelers, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, and Look Out Below. He influenced many with his talent and love for music.

He was preceded in death by: his sister, Betty Farmer Fields; and a brother, Lanny Hassel Farmer. He is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Myrl Lois Justus Farmer; his daughter, Jessica Marie Farmer Webb, of Cynthiana; a son, Danny Ray (Donna) Farmer, Jr., of Cynthiana; a brother, Bruce Allen (Jeniffer) Farmer, of Sadieville; three beautiful granddaughters, Danielle Renee Farmer, Araya Hope Farmer and Debra Lois Webb; an honorary daughter, Tawana Crystal Fields (Mike) Hillard, of Corinth, and her three sons, Isaac Neil Hillard, Aaron Wesley Hillard and Lucas Michael Hillard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, at Sadieville Christian Church by Pastor Scott Meadows, with burial in Sadieville Cemetery. Friends may call at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
