Born February 22, 1849 to Mathias and Magdeline Levan in Conemaugh township, Somerset county, Pennsylvania. In the spring of 1859 she came to Illinois with her parents.
She married Henry E. Miller Dec. 23, 1860, and farmed in Palmyra. Together they had eight children (two daughters and six sons): Frances, Martha, William Albert, Charles M., Edward H., John F., Oscar L. and Fred. Proceeded in death by two of their children which died in infancy, William Albert and Frances. Another daughter, Martha, died at the age of 19. At the time of her death, she was survived by the four sons and several siblings. Anne, Mary, Mathias, Catharine. Margaret died at the home of her sister, Catherine (William) Mossholder on Peoria Avenue, Dixon IL.
