Bobby “Bob” L. McKnight, age 82 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, his 62nd wedding anniversary, at his residence. He was born in Newbern, Tennessee on April 21, 1935 to the late Virgil and Louise McKnight. Bob retired in 1983 after working for over 31 years as a supervisor and ironworker for U.S. Steel and then worked for over 14 years for Empire Gas. He enjoyed bird hunting, training bird dogs, archery, gardening, welding, and smoking meat. Bob was a member of Elk River Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving family man who was a hardworking and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ann Scroggins; and brother-in-law, Dean Jones. Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean McKnight of Winchester; son, Ronny (Kathy) McKnight of Winchester; granddaughter, Chasity (Chris) Smith of Winchester; great-granddaughters, Lexie and Lacie Smith; sisters, Nancy (Al) Zamora of Murfreesboro and Doris Jones of Newbern, Tennessee; nephew, Tony (Mitzi) Allen of Newbern; nieces, Lisa (Steve) Williams of Dyersburg and Carol Zamora of Murfreesboro; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dewey Rowe, Ray Idzior, John Jewett, Pete Hall, and Don Sisk Jr. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Saturday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2017 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Carl Roberts, Don Gregory, and Chris Seals officiating. Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park with Tony Allen, Josh Allen, Jeff Ward, Eddy Seals, Rick Finney, Bill Seals, Tracy Seals, and Jason Seals serving as pallbearers.
