John Joseph Sirek, age 91, of Rice Lake, WI, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Brentwood Assisted Living in Rice Lake. He was born on March 12, 1926 in Rice Lake, WI to John and Mary (Skluzacek) Sirek.
John was married to Helene Zimmer on June 6, 1950 in Dobie, WI. He was a dairy farmer, and a construction worker. He was a maintenance coordinator for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he took care of the church and cemetery for many years.
He devoted himself to his family and loved serving others. John loved to dance, take care of his horses and do woodworking. He loved peppermint schnapps and KitKats.
John Sirek is survived by three sons, David Sirek, Gary (Bernadine) Sirek and Jeff Sirek; three daughters, Rosalie (Gerard) Koehn, Theresa (Kelly) Weiss and Jackie Golden; six grandsons; three granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Al (Audrey) Sirek; a sister, Theresa Spletstoser; a brother-in-law, Don Stoecklen; two sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Sirek and Dorothy Sirek.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helene Sirek; his parents, John and Mary Sirek; four brothers, Joseph, George, Tony and Ralph Sirek; and three sisters, Agnes Zimmer, Mary Stoecklen and Ann Kinnick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Fr. David Oberts officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
