Susan Jane Lake, 77, of East China, passed away on Wednesday,June 28, 2017. She was born May 26, 1940 in St. Clair to the late August and Vera Danneels. In September of 1960 Susan would go on to marry the love of her life, Hugh Lake. Susan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a giving heart and always put others needs before her own. Susan was an active member at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Clair. In her younger years she was an avid bowler. Susan also loved to tend to her beautiful flower beds. However, when the months got colder she would trade in her trowel for a snowmobile. Susan loved to travel, having visited her favorite place Hawaii, twice. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Hugh; two sons, Robert Lake and James (Tamara) Lake; daughter, Tamara (Thomas) Bieth; grandchildren, Christina Lake and Michael Lake; brother, David Danneels and sister, Donna Tebeau. In addition to her parents, Susan was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Danneels. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 5th, 2017 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 415 N. 9th Street, St. Clair with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, East China. Donations may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church (online at: www.immanuelsc.org) or to Marine City Old News Boys.
