Jose was born on March 19, 1937 in Edinburg, Texas to Amado and Josefina (Rodriguez) Hinojosa. He married Josefina Lopez on October 10, 1955 in Arkansas. From this union, they had seven children; Amado, Janie, Jose, Velma, Marcy, Martin, and Rolando.
Jose was a man of many trades. He retired from Katy ISD where he worked in Maintenance for four years. He also worked at the gin in Kress and did many other things. Mr. Hinojosa was a family man that loved all his children and grandchildren, he enjoyed listening to music too.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife on 60 years; Josefina Hinojosa of Kress, children; Janie Amador and husband Carlos of Kress, Jose Hinojosa Jr. and wife Lupe of Plainview, Velma Hinojosa and husband Jimmy of Plainview, Marcy Davis and husband Wade of Idalou, Martin Hinojosa of Fulshear, Rolando Hinojosa and wife Minerva of Kress, and daughter in law Gloria Hinojosa of Rosenberg, five siblings, twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son; Amado Hinojosa, and one brother; Robert Hinojosa.
