Jerry O. DeGroat Jr. of Rock Tavern, New York, went home to be with the Lord on July 23rd 2017. He was born on September 16, 1942 to the late Jerry O. DeGroat Sr and Norma Milligan.
He was a proud Army Veteran who served during Vietnam. Jerry worked and retired from KJ sanitation as a truck driver after many years of service. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife Louise DeGroat and his loving children; Angela Morales, Cindy DeGroat, Elizabeth Mitchell and Jennifer DeGroat and sons Jerry O DeGroat III and Jamie O DeGroat.
He was pre-deceased by sisters Roslyn Dennison and Michelle Palmer, brother Peter S. DeGroat and sister in-law Judy Mann.
He is survived by two caring sisters Regina Osborne and Deborah Boyd, brother Brandon DeGroat, sister in-law Martha DeGroat and Cathy Mann and brother in-law Theodore Carter. Jerry is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was a wonderful husband, caring father, pop pop, and brother. All who had the pleasure of knowing Jerry loved him. He will be dearly missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 12 Noon to 2:00pm at the DAVID T. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Washingtonville Cemetery.
