Manti, UT

Our dear sweet angel went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 22, 2017. She was born on October 2, 1973 in Payson, UT to Larry Lynn and Georgia Gay Skinner Young. She blessed our lives for 43 years.

Kimberly graduated from Manti High School and received a certificate of child care from Snow College. She was a beloved Girl Scout Leader for many years and loved being involved in her community.

Kimberly faced many trials and difficulties in her life. She underwent brain surgery at age 4 to remove a benign tumor. The tumor and surgery left Kimberly legally blind and with many other limitations. After removing as much of the tumor as possible the doctors gave her five years to live. Kimberly was a miracle given to teach of us and touched our lives.

Kimberly was a huge spirit tucked into a short little body that struggled to contain her. Her spirit and loving nature touched all those with whom she came in contact. Kimberly taught us about perseverance and never giving up. Even with so many things going against her she always had a positive attitude and happy spirit. She had a sweet and powerful testimony that touched and strengthened all those who experienced it. Her light and spirit will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her dad Larry; siblings Shane (Janint) Young, of Herriman, UT; Kara(Samuel) Hampton, of Lehi; Travis (Crystal) Young, of Santaquin. She is also survived by 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

She was greeted home by her mom Georgia Skinner Young; nephew Steven Young; grandparents and other loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Stake Center. Friends may call on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and also prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery.

Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
