Wayne is the son of Clyde and Kathryn (Sherman) Reeves.

Wayne married Carlene Dinges on April 14, 1956 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. They are the parents of Scott, Doug, Kelly & Gregg.

Wayne C. Reeves, 83, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. He was born April 7, 1934, in Lincoln, NE to Clyde and Kathryn (Sherman) Reeves. Wayne graduated from Cathedral High School in Lincoln and University of Nebraska Lincoln. On April 14, 1956, he was married to Carlene Dinges at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lincoln.

Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dedicated educator and coach. He had a lifelong devotion to catholic schools where he spent most of his career. He taught from 1957-1960 at the public school in Bellwood, NE before moving to Wahoo. Five years were spent teaching at Wahoo Catholic High School and then continued at Bishop Neumann High School until his retirement in 1999. Wayne served Bishop Neumann as a teacher, coach, athletic director, director of bus transportation and he continued serving the schools for many years past retirement.

Wayne was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church where he served as a lector, Eucharist Minister of the sick, usher and altar server. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sons of the American Legion, and founder of the Bishop Neumann Booster Club. He worked many years with the Wahoo Parks and Recreation where he spent 25 years as the swimming pool manager. He received a 25 years in Coaching Association Award and in 1989 the Bishop Neumann football field was dedicated in his honor.

Family was very important to Wayne and he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play in sports. Throughout his years of teaching, Wayne taught his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by wife of 61 years, Carlene Reeves; children: Scott Reeves of Millard, NE, Doug (Kim) Reeves of Wahoo, Kelly (Dan) Dailey of Wahoo and Gregg (Lori) Reeves of Weston; grandchildren: Tim Reeves, Grant Reeves, Paris Reeves, Linsey Weaver, Kylie Pippitt, Mallory Cromwell, Jenna Zembillas, Melissa Cernik, Mitch Reeves, Ryan Reeves, Sara Partington, Katie Reeves and Hallie Reeves; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters: Genevieve McCune, Maxine McCormack and Mary Lou (Bob) Burns; and all the Dinges siblings.

He was preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Kathryn Reeves; brother, Richard Reeves; grandson, Nolan Hannan; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Reeves; son-in-law, John Hannan.
