w/o Sebastian Israel Palmer, age 26, married 27 Aug 1902, Waverly, Bremer Co, Iowa; were married for almost 54 years.

m/o 11 children: 'Max' Maxwell Dorrance Palmer, baby girl Palmer, Vivian (Palmer) Thompson, Elsie ((Palmer) Sundberg, Sam Palmer, Frank Palmer, Irma (Palmer) Kateley, Doris (Palmer) McGee, Paul Palmer, Ruth (Palmer) Wicks. (1 yet to locate who preceded her in death)

She and husband were frequent travelers to visit their children and numerous relatives in nearby states. On July 30, 1956, they traveled from their home in Lake Belt, Minnesota on a trip to visit her half-sister, Bertha (Davis) Hamilton in Charles City, Iowa. That fateful day the couple were killed simultaneously in an auto collision 7 miles southeast of Osage, Iowa.

Nine of their eleven children were left to mourn the loss as well as her father, Fred A. Belmer, Jonesboro, Arkansas; 42 grand children, 14 great grandchildren, 6 half-sisters: Edith (Davis) Hamilton, previously mentioned; H. J. (Belmer) Murphy, Oklahoma City, OK; C. (Belmer) Kramer. Midlothian, IL; Elise (Belmer) Mann, Platesville, Wisconsin; Bertha (Belmer) Andrews, St. Louis, MO; and Sarah (Belmer) Harmon, Jonesboro, Arkansas; 2 half-brothers in California, Frank Abbott Davis, Fresno; and Fred Belmer, San Mateo and many other relatives.

Services were held on the Friday following at Ceylon Methodist Church.
Goodell Funeral Home, Ceylon, MN was in charge of arrangements with burial in Lake Belt Cemetery.
