Sister Blandina Altstadt, OSB, of the convent of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, died November 30 at 1 p.m. in St. Cloud. Born in 1869 in Johnstown, Pa.,she entered the Benedictine Order from St. Joseph's parish, Perham, and professed religious vows in 1891. In her earlier religious life, sister Blandina taught the primary grades at Hastings, St. Mary's Cathedral, Sauk Center, Tacoma and Wadena. At St. Joseph's home, St. Cloud since 1910, she was bookkeeper, which position she held until recently. A solemn requiem mass and funeral services will be held in the Sacred Heart chapel, St. Joseph on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Nun Spends 38 Years as Bookkeeper
St. Joseph.— Sister Blandina Aldstadt, who had served as bookkeeper at St. Joseph's home for the aged in St. Cloud since 1910, was buried here on Thursday of last week following Solemn Requiem Mass in Sacred Heart chapel. Sister Blandina died in St. Cloud Nov. 30. Born in 1869 in Johnstown, Pa., Sister Blandina had been a Benedictine nun for 56 years. She entered the convent here from St. Joseph's parish, Perham, in 1891. In her earlier religious life, she taught the primary grades in Hastings; St. Mary's school, St. Cloud; St. Paul's school, Sauk Centre; Tacoma, Wash.; and St. Ann's school, Wadena. She was assigned to St. Joseph's home in 1891.
