Mrs. Margarita C. Montalvo, 80, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Maggie, as she was affectionately known, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She received her Bachelors degree in Education from Southwest Texas State College in 1954 and then began a 35 year career with the Brownsville Independent School District. Maggie was very proud that her two daughters and a granddaughter followed in her footsteps and all graduated from Southwest Texas State University.

On October 9, 1955, Maggie married the love of her life, Mike Montalvo and they were able to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary this past Sunday, October 9th. Maggie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who gave her all for her family. Maggie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Maggie was preceded in death by her son, Mike Montalvo Jr. her parents and two brothers: Edmundo E. and Oscar P. Cisneros.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her husband, Mike Montalvo her daughters: Patricia Patty Javier Lozano and Melissa Missy John Dramberger the grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Katherine Kevin Medlin, Ashley Lozano, J. Michael Lozano, Claire Dramberger, and Jack Dramberger three sisters: Emma Jim Fangmann, Benilde Bennie Abel Salazar, and Hortencia Tencha Tijerina a brother, Jose M. Joe Lupita Cisneros and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011 with the recitation of the holy rosary service scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Liturgical Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive. We ask that everyone meet at St. Luke's as there will be no procession from the funeral home to the church. In accordance with Maggie's wishes, cremation will follow and all services will conclude at the church.

Maggies sons-in-law, Javier Lozano and John Dramberger, along with her grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Lozano and Katherine Medlin and her nephew, Boris Hidalgo are honored to be serving as her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Medlin and Claire and Jack Dramberger.
