19 year-old Dahlgren resident, Jeremy Michael Gibson, died at 7:36 a.m. Friday, June 9 near Sims. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on August 1, 1997 and was a driver for Martin & Bailey of Carmi. He loved hunting, golf, playing cards, and hanging with family. He was a member of the Belle Rive Church of Christ.

He is survived by his father: Danny Gibson and wife Sara of Dahlgren. His mother: Stacy Easley and husband Shane of McLeansboro. A sister: Kristin Gibson of McLeansboro. Step Sisters: Baliee and Kyliee Waggoner of Dahlgren. Paternal grandparents: Bill and Leanna Gibson of Mt. Vernon, IL and Bill and Paula Hutchinson of Opdyke. Maternal grandmothers: Darlene Grimes and Mary Jane Easley, both of McLeansboro. A special friend: Kirsten Rodgers. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents.

Funeral services for Jeremy Michael Gibson will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Reverend Ben Gardner and Reverend Jason Adams officiating. Burial will be held at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be made in honor of Jeremy to Shriner’s Hospital for Children and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of the arrangements.
