Sherry Lynn Lusk Hood, 59, of Kopper City Bottom, WV was called home by God on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at her home. She was born on October 18, 1957 in Beckley, WV a daughter of the late Frank James Lusk (1924-1991) and Garnett Ola Goodwin-Lusk (3114-2014).
Sherry was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County and attended the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Kopperston. She spent a great part of her life dedicated to the care of the community's elderly and disabled. She was well known for her compassion.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Hood Sr. (1957-2017); a son, Donald Eugene "Brian" Hood Jr. (1957-1999); a sister Pateria Lusk-Long-Sneed (1947-Deceased); a brother Wandell Calvin Lusk (Deceased); and two nephews.
Survivors include daughter, Lenette A. "Rachel" Hood-Wood-Philpot & Jason Philpot of Kopper City Bottom; a son, Trenton R. Hood of Georgetown, KY; a grandson, Don'Nasia "Asia" Hood; a brother, Frank James Lusk & Barbara Lusk of Sevierville, TN; three sisters, Jo Ann Lusk-Sanders (B. 1949) & David Sanders of Seymour, TN, Marlene Lusk-Maynard & Wallace Maynard of Fairdale and Beverly Lusk-Long of Conover, NC; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
