LITTLE ROCK — Funeral services for Laverne Williams, 86, of Little Rock and formerly of Greenville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Anthony Prestige officiating. She died Thursday, July 19, 2017, after a brief illness, at Hospice Home in Little Rock, surrounded by family.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.
She was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Eudora, Arkansas.
Laverne previously lived in Greenville and was the owner of Laverne’s Upholstery on South Main Street, until her retirement.
She then moved to Rogers, Arkansas, to be close to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Zackary “EZ” “Shorty” Williams; her parents, Lee and Dorothy Brooks; and brother, Robert Lee Brooks.
