A 21-year-old army depot employe was killed instantly yesterday when his car careened off Route 20 near Sloansville and crashed into a tree, snapping it in two.

WORKERS HAD TO SAW the tree apart to get to the victim, Albert N. Hunt of RD 1, Esperance. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Duncan Best of Middleburg, Schoharie county coroner. Best said Hunt died of a fractured skull, broken ribs and internal injuries. He issued a verdict of accidental death. State police said the crash occurred about 5 a.m., two miles east of Sloansville. Hunt, alone in the car, was headed west when his auto careened off the highway ... Burial will be in the Sloansville Valley cemetery. Hunt was a member of the D. W. Jenkins hose company in Central Bridge. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mae Hunt; two brothers, Harvey J. and Emery Hunt of Esperance; two stepbrothers, Charles Hunt of Ilion and Milton K. Hunt of Cortland; a sister, Mrs. Hauser Becker of East Worcester; his grandmother, Mrs. Ida Marasino of Rochester; and three nephews and a niece."
