Beverly J. Reddick, 78, of Andalusia, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at home. Funeral services for Beverly will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave. E., Milan. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Beverly was born on September 21, 1937 in Rock Island, a daughter of Bailey and Orpha (Blair) Ferkel. She married Hilton M. Reddick on June 12, 1954 in Andalusia. Hilton passed away on August 12, 2003. Beverly held numerous jobs as a machinist, first working at the Container Corporation in Milan and later at Deere and Company Plow and Planter. She retired in 1982.

Beverly greatly enjoyed traveling with her family, playing Euchre, collecting antiques, attending auctions, swimming and fishing. Beverly had a very strong passion for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved every minute they spent together. In her earlier years, Beverly played baseball for the Andalusia Acorns. She was very proud of her local heritage and the role she played in history as the last living great grandchild of Colonel Davenport.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra (Harold) Allen, Hayesville, NC; sons, Kevin (Ina) Reddick, New Windsor and Marlin (Rhonda)Reddick, Andalusia; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice Owens and Donna Hofmann and many other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton; son, Ricky ; granddaughter, Tedra Anderson; sisters, Betty Mercy and Barbara Evins, and her brother, Junior Ferkel.
