Mr. S.L. 'Bo' Porter, age 85, of Jonesboro died Sunday morning, July 16,2017 at his home following a period of declining health. Mr. Porter was a retired supervisor with Continental Can Co. and was a loving husband,father,grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid gardener. Visitation was held Monday, July 17,2017 from 5:00-9:00 pm and Tuesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Jonesboro First Assembly of God Church in Jonesboro. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the church with Rev. Bubba Walsworth, Rev. David Walsworth, Sr. and Rev. Geary Phillips officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery near Quitman under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Porter is survived by his children, Michael 'Butch' Porter & wife Brenda, Randy Porter & wife Lynn, Stephen Porter and wife Libbie, Melissa McKaskle and husband Stanley; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters Bonnie Hennigan & husband Shellie, Dianne Allen; special friends Johnny & Janice Templeton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Griffith Porter; parents, James Louis Porter & Pinkey Leona (Aldy) Porter; brothers J.L. Porter, Bobby D. Porter, infant twin brothers Lonnie and Donnie Porter. Serving the family as pall bearers were Brad Porter, Nick Porter, Aaron Porter, John Harvey, Todd Droddy and Johnny Templeton. Honorary pall bearers were Ian McKaskle and Darin Allen.
