He was one of 4 siblings: sisters Florence Gilliam and Lottie Graves and brothers Ben Scott, Jr (deceased) and Leo Scott of Petersburg, Va.
He served in the United States Air Force with Honorable Discharge in 1979. He received his Bachelors Degree in business.
He served as a Correctional Officer in California for several years and in later years he served as a Security Officer in Tacoma until he became ill.
He chose to live a very private life, but those he worked with loved him, learned from him and were encouraged by him greatly. Most remember his laughter.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ben L. Scott, his mother, Adel Scott, and his brother, Ben Scott Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Scott, his sisters, a brother, his children, step-children and grandchildren.
Graveside Services were held at Tahoma National Cemetery at 1pm. Wednesday, August 2nd.
We, the family of Jerome Scott, would like to express our sincerest appreciation for the thoughtfulness presented to us and the love that we have received during our time of bereavement. May God bless you all for your prayers and acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy in our loss.
