Dana Michelle Allen, 38, of Jolo, WV, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, Virginia following a long illness.
Dana was born October 11, 1978, in Bluefield, WV, a daughter of Ricky Hicks and Sherry Bowles-Hicks. She was of the Christian Faith and loved the lord. She also loved to sing and read her bible and poetry, she wanted to be a writer. She was a former Certified Nursing Assistant and Activity Director.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jasper Bowles Jr. (Deceased) and Opal Roberts-Bowles (Deceased); paternal grandmother Dorothy Jean Smith (Deceased); and a great aunt Charlie (Deceased) and Shirley Arrington (Deceased); and son David (Deceased).
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Justin Allen of the home; a daughter, Genesis Rhiannon Allen of the home; a son, Ashton Gage Allen of the home; her mother, Sherry Lynn Bowles-Hicks-Powers and husband Brian Powers of Hiddenite, NC; her father, Ricky Allen Hicks and stepmother Ruby Ann Hicks, of Bradshaw, WV; two sisters, Stephanie Hicks-White and husband Terry Lee White of Conover, NC, and Bethany Brianna Jessie Powers of Hiddenite, NC; aunts, Tammy Rose and husband Ray Rose of Hiddenite, NC, Telisha Campbell and husband Charlie Campbell of Chattanooga, TN, and Sue Addair of Winston Salem, NC; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted, Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 3:00 with Reverend Charles Rose officiating at the Family Worship Center in Bradshaw WV. By the deceased request, cremation will follow.
