Born June 11, 1919, in Tifton, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Daniel Young and LeOla Fletcher Young.
She was a retired clerk with the mail department of the University of Miami and was of the Baptist Faith. She attended Moultrie Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lorene Benefield; two brothers, J.C. Young and Pleas Young; and one half-sister, Leada Freeman.
Survivors include one son, Al Griffin and wife Shirley of Cooper City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Sonny Griffin of Miami, Fla., Tina Osteen of Sanford, Fla., Tim Griffin of Homestead, Fla., and Kristin Hollander of Parkland, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Louise Wiley of Moultrie; two half-brothers, Bobby Young and Ronnie Young, both of Moultrie; four half-sisters, Laurie Austin of Meigs; Faye Patterson, Lucille Murphy and Linda Strickland, all of Moultrie.
