ADLBERT ADAMS Dies at age of 71
Vernon, May 2 - Although in ill health for a number of years and confined to his bed but two days, death came to Adelbert Fayette Adams unexpectedly at 5:30 Friday evening. Of a quiet and unassuming nature, Mr. Adams was an industrious and hardworking man. He followed the occupation of a meat cutter, having been employed by the F. Martin Sons and also in Oneida, where he received an injury to one hand which gradually spread through his system and incapacitated him for work. He was a member of the Vernon Fire Company and had served as its foreman.
Mr. Adams was born at Delta on Oct 9, 1870, a son of the late Fayette and Martha Watson Adams. On Nov 28, 1893, he married Miss Louise Meyers, the ceremony taking place in Rome. Had he lived until next year they would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Adams lived in Rome for 11 years after their marriage, coming to their present home in 1903.
There survive beside his wife, two sons, Howard and Lyle D., both of this place, also two sister, Mrs. Sarah Barrett and Mrs. Lydia Thomas, both of Rome, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., and 7 to 9 in the evening. Interment in charge of H. R. Alger will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
