VERNON, March 3 – Telegrams from Savannah, Georgia, received here this morning announced the sudden death of Charles W. Cushman, well known in Vernon and Utica. Mr. Cushman, accompanied by Mrs. Cushman, had been spending the past two months touring in the southern states. Although for several years, Mr. Cushman had been in poor health, for the past year he had felt unusually well and his death comes as a distinct shock to his many friends.

He took a business course in Utica. For several years he conducted a men's furnishing store here. He was married about 30 years ago to Miss Katherine A. Garry of Vernon, who survives.
